From the first plantings to today’s thriving estate, every grape is still grown by Bill himself with care and tradition. What began as a family pursuit of quality and flavor has grown into a generational craft—now joined by their children, Sarah and William Gargan, who are leading Vina Sierra into a new era of expanded production and market growth, while preserving the heart and heritage of the family vineyard

Nestled on 15 acres of rolling terrain, Vina Sierra’s vineyard captures the character of its soil and sun. Eight acres are currently planted, with an additional five acres prepared for future vines at the Vina Sierra winery. The land’s thin topsoil and decomposed granite foundation create naturally low yields and concentrated fruit, producing wines with distinct minerality and depth. Each harvest reflects the rugged beauty of the terrain—where challenging soil meets the dedication of hands that know it well.

Tasting Room Update

Vina Sierra Winery - Crafting Excellence

Our tasting room at Sierra Vista Winery is currently taking a short pause while we let the cellar catch its breath. Simply put—we drank (and sold) through our Vina Sierra wine a little faster than expected, and we want to make sure that when our doors are open, the experience is worth the wait.

The good news? There’s plenty to look forward to. We have a 2025 Merlot, a 2024 Syrah, and several other exciting new offerings coming together as we ramp up production over the next few months. These wines are shaping up beautifully, and we can’t wait to share them.

As for our estate wines—they’re doing exactly what great wines should be doing: taking their time. While they’re not quite ready yet, we’re very much looking forward to releasing them in the coming years as they reach their full expression.

We’re expecting to welcome guests back to the tasting room in late spring or early summer, and we’ll be sharing updates as plans firm up. Thank you for your patience, your enthusiasm, and your support—we promise the wait will be worth it.

Stay tuned… the best takes time!

If you're in the area visiting the Big Trees, it doesn't hurt to call or text. Even though the tasting room is closed, we sometimes invite guests to Olive Tree Hill to share a bottle or two while gazing at the stars!
